Back to art and quilt related content

This is a 6 inch quilted panel with satin stitched edge. It is painted with textile paints on white cotton fabric and then machine quilted. I made this for a holiday related project. I haven't decided if I am going to use it or not yet.

I just bought these the other day and am looking forward to experimenting and seeing what kind of things I can do with them.

Boy, there is nothing better than a new box of crayons is there.

  3. Thank you ^_^

the aqua-stics are made for paper but I will definitely be trying them out on fabric. Probably paper too. I have used Caran D'ache water color crayons on fabric and they work nicely. Color them like crayons and then take a brush and water and turn your drawing into a painting. Then heat set with an iron for permanence.

This brand is made slightly different, they contain wax so they can be used for encaustic methods of working. A whole new technique to explore. When I have played around with them I will post my findings.

  9. making art? or quilting?

Making art has been life long.

I made my first full size quilt when I was 24. I had no idea what I was doing other than having a good basic knowledge of sewing. Even that first quilt was not traditional. I am going to be 46 at the end of the month so I have been at this a few years.

  10. I love the quilted pomegranates Judy. I've been doing some paintings with pomegranates so was especially interested to see what you had done with them.

  11. I know what you mean about a new pack of pens or pencils! Have you tried Derwent Inktense? They are really good.
The pomegranate design is such a great shape and the colours just bounce off each other perfectly.
    I love it!
