Agave Quilt
Here's the final background for the agave (pre-fusing). It is now all fused together and ready to layer it with batting and backing. Unfortunately I am leaving for California in a couple days and will be gone for three weeks. I am anxious to get my sewing table put back together so I can quilt this on a flat surface. That will be my project for when I get back.

This is gorgeous! Looks very 3D also.
ReplyDeleteWould you happen to have pictures of the pieces of fabrics that you used before they were cut? Were all of the leaves out of the same piece of fabric? This is just an amazing piece, even my DH was in awe!
ReplyDeleteSooooooooo BEAUTIFUL!!

ReplyDeleteTwo of the fabrics I used is in the sept 2005 archive. The greens for the agave were taken from 3 pieces of fabric that I dyed. These were done by pouring the dye down the fabric while it is hanging. The sky was dyed this way as well. The browns were all dyed scrunched in a container.
Well i take your comment as a real compliment because I know how hard it is to impress the husbands :)
actually a lot of husbands seem to like the martian quilt too, gee i wonder why...LOL
Oooh, this looks so nice. he impression of setting sun adds so much more depth than the monochromatic backgrounds. Hurry up and get back so we can see this finished :-)
