Isn't it ironic that my free-motion presser foot breaks at strength?! LOL
Well as frustrating as that is I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised, this machine is over 20 years old and it is my favorite so it gets a lot of use. Luckily I found a replacement online pretty quick and have ordered a new foot.
I've been stitching the cups first, adding strong black lines to echo the illustration style of the vintage anatomical heart engraving and using monofilament across the rest of the cup to secure the fabric but not add as much visual texture.
Happy New Year!!!
I am definitely ready for a new one, things have got to start getting better!
Nice work.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you :-)
I love what I see, beautiful work and fabrics. There is nothing worse than losing your machine when you are in the middle of something. Mine tends to stop when a piece of lint gets in the wrong place, so it has to be done by the store, but I usually get upgrades when it is in, so that is a good thing.

Your quilts are so gorgeous. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHA! Your presser foot knows you are strong :) great picture :)) YES, wishing you a wonderful and better NEW YEAR! I feel it will be so.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a Bernina? My plastic foot broke too, so I bought the metal one- no worries since then. It's a big shock when the foot breaks!!Scared the life out of me!!
ReplyDeleteLove your work. Happy New Year to you too.
Thanks Judy! This machine is an old Pfaff. I have an older Bernina too, but my daughter thinks it's hers now, lol.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, Happy New Year! I have the same Pfaff as you - what I can't understand, is that the great German made machine has a PLASTIC free-motion foot! Why not make it out of metal like other machine makers do? I've been through a couple of feet now and have a spare because it's happened 2x when I've been in a hurry to get something finished!
ReplyDeleteThe strength comes from you inside a glorious youthful heart! I am so glad you have ordered a replacement. Happy New Year! Peace, Mary Helen
ReplyDeleteThey do say that what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.. perhaps that is why your foot broke on "strength"?
ReplyDeleteRegardless, it's lovely work, using such rich colours - A very Happy New Year to you!!
I'm right there with you Judy, in looking for a better year...Love your newest piece!
